End of April Fishing Report

Another week of great fishing!

First off, congratulations to Tristan Lincoln for winning The Big One final in a hugely consistent display over two days. Tristan finished 2nd overall on both days, which is an incredible achievement. Very well done to Carl Nixon and Ryan Matthew for 2nd and 3rd as well. It has been a great competition.

Catches this week have been dominated by buzzers and dries, but fish can still be caught on lures. Pete Davison was top rod for the week with 22 pristine rainbow trout. Every single one of them off the top on black dries. Matty Devine had yet another great catch with 18 well thought out fish. Lures and buzzers doing the job for Matty. Rob Frame had 15 using black dries as well. Another great performance Rob. Jim Burtle also landed 15 lovely fish.

There have also been a fair few big fish landed – or almost landed! Barry Nicholson was caught between a rock and a hard place in the competition. On the changeover whistle he hooked a monster that he thought was a possible double figure fish. Unfortunately for Barry he didn’t have time on his side and had to hurry it a tiny bit too much and the fish came off. There were two others around 9lb landed for the week, and Kevin Edgar landed a cracker of 7-8lb in his lesson with Stuart Ingledew Fly Fishing.
