Fishing still tough. Another similar week, with fishing still on the tricky side of good. Fish remain catchable if you time it right, but it is not a given.
Most anglers are checking out with 2,3 or 4 fish which is steady away for the time of year. Most of those are using dries, with Black Gnats, Top Hats and Nothing Flies the pick. Days with less sunshine are nearly always best if you prefer fishing on the surface. If it is sunny, fishing deep is generally the best way.
At times it feels like we have the whole UK population of Swallows over us – on most evenings, they’ve been swarming in their thousands. Sometimes over a particular lake. One night Dunnydeer had none over it while they were all over Ross and Chatton Lakes. An incredible sight.
Reddis Bait Lake continues to fish quite well, but anglers who have done best have had to think their fish out – fishing deep has certainly been best. Can anglers fishing Reddis please make sure they kill their fish properly before unhooking and if you are unsure how to do this, ask in the lodge.
Any fish caught on the fly lakes on catch and release tickets MUST be unhooked in the water. Any angler seen putting the fish on the ground prior to release will be asked to leave.

Generally good. Winds mostly light and from the west until early next week. Looks like more cloud than sunshine and maybe some showers. Temperatures 17-19 degrees every day for the whole week. Small potential for lightening on Friday afternoon so check the up to date forecast the night before.
First Cast – 8.30am.
Last Cast – 9.00pm every day. Except Saturday, which is always 5.00pm.
